ahhh... i love today

Today, I have nothing to do. I just got home from picking up my license plates from Toyota. I had a dream last night that my new plate would be JA 393. That's not what it is though. If it was I'd be scared of myself. But now, I can sit here on the computer and do nothing which is exactly what I need. I've been on the run the past couple of weekends and this feels nice.

Last weekend we went to the 10,000 Lakes Festival and it was muchos of fun. Rob and I took our own cars up there so that I could leave Sunday night and he could stay to work on his UROP. I followed him to Detroit Lakes and we had to stop twice b/c his car was overheating. He added some oil and it seemed good to go. Friday night we met up with our friends, saw some music, had some taco, set up our tent, danced in a drum circle that got stuck in a tunnel...very fun. Then on Saturday Rob had to meet a guy in town that he's working on the project with to get some paperwork and on the way back to our campsite, Rob's speedometer went out, then the radio, then the clock and we drove in complete silence and horror back to the campsite. Luckily we made it to another campsite where my car was parked but when he turned the car off, it did not turn back on. Poor little honda. Soooo, we HAD to drive my car into our campsite and I had a heart attack the whole way. I mean, there are drugged up drunk people playing frisbee and being crazy... and this is the first new car I've ever had. BUT I did it and I was proud of myself and the car was just fine. The rest of the festival was really a lot of fun. We saw Widespread Panic two nights, MOFRO, Jazz Mandolin Project, G. Love & Special Sauce, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals... but the BEST was Gabby La La. She was the most amazing person I've ever seen. She plays the sitar, a little toy piano, a ukelele and she played this pirate song on the electric guitar. She was hysterical. I missed Les Claypool who she plays with because I had to leave sunday night so I could make it to work monday morning so that was a bummer.

ANYWAY, I made the drive back home through farmland just fine except for a little incident in Ashby where the town was so small that I missed it and almost ran out of gas but that's all I'll say about that. I'm over it.

Rob got home Tuesday night after his friend and him jumped his car every 40 miles of the 200 mile drive home. The alternator needs a little work. He had to leave the car in Monticello because it got late and he couldn't drive with his lights on so Wednesday that's what we did. Drove about 1/2 hour to Monticello and jumped it back to our house. Cars... eh.

Last night we went to the natural history museum at the U and saw this movie called Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus http://www.searchingforthewrongeyedjesus.com It was quite the interesting flick. Check out the trailer.

Then we came home and hung out with our new neighbor who is super cool. She just got out of the military in Jersey and is going to start at the U this Fall.

Today... nothing. Well there's talk of a barbeque at our house that people have been invited to but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, I'm relaxing...
